Geochang-gun is located at the northwestern end of Gyeongsangnam-do and faces Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jeollabuk-do, and borders a total of 7 cities and counties, including Gimcheon-si, Jangsu-gun, Muju-gun, Seongju-gun, Hapcheon-gun, Sancheong-gun, and Hamyang-gun. Located in the middle of the three major national parks: Jirisan Mountain, Deogyusan Mountain, and Gayasan Mountain, the natural scenery is beautiful, and specialties include apples, strawberries, omija, au, and agoni called Five Red Peas. In addition, it is an educational city with seven high schools, including Geochang High School, Geochang Daeseong High School, and Geochang Girls´ High School, as well as two-year universities, including Korea Elevator University and Gyeongnam Geochang University. Major attractions include Suseungdae, Changpowon, Gamaksan Mountain, Anti-Aging Healing Land, and Gajo Hot Springs, and major festivals include Geochang International Theater Festival and Geochang Hanmadang Grand Festival.
